At Resource 1, we know we wouldn’t be who we are today without the support of our communities. That’s why we operate with a deep sense of philanthropy, getting involved when and where we can to give back.
Resource 1 teamed up with Photos for Food to raise money to help feed families in need. With the infamous River Forest, Illinois Halloween house as the backdrop, families arrived decked in their Halloween costumes for 5-minute mini photo sessions with fantastic professional photographers in exchange for $5 minimum donations.
The first $500 donated was matched by Resource 1. 100% of the proceeds were donated to Beyond Hunger, a food pantry serving the Oak Park, River Forest, and 11 other surrounding communities.
Beginning as early as mid-March, the coronavirus pandemic has pushed everyone to adjust to a “new norm.” For some people, this means acclimating to work-from-home life while juggling childcare. For local business owner, TammyLynn Brewer, and her family, life has consisted of long hours in the kitchen at their family-owned and operated restaurant, Sip Barrington. Together, they happily prepare and deliver meals free of charge to local heroes in the ER at Barrington’s Good Shepherd Hospital.
To support as many healthcare workers as possible, the Brewer family created a GoFundMe for those interested in sponsoring a meal. Resource 1 was honored to support the Brewer family’s mission through a $500 donation.

At Resource 1, we work with talented IT professionals who have an unparalleled passion for technology and a commitment to drive the innovations of today into a new era. For many, their interest in technology was sparked by the resources and support they received growing up. This is why we were honored to partner with Pritzker College Prep for a third time for their annual Sophomore Career Exploration Day.
OPEF is a privately funded nonprofit organization that brings educational programs, including VEX Robotics, to students in the K-8 range. We know that Resource 1’s financial support and commitment will help develop great scientific minds for our future. STEM and robotics will be a large part of the future when these children graduate from college.

Resource 1 was delighted to partner with Pritzker College Prep recently on their inaugural Sophomore Career Exploration Day. The school is located on the West side of the City of Chicago, where over 90% of their graduated students are the first in their families to attend college. Resource 1 is excited to partner up with Pritzker College Prep for future career events and introduce more students to the world of Information Technology.
Driven by strong philanthropic values, Resource 1 regularly encourages its team members to get involved in their communities. Recently, Account Executive Kristen Long had an eye-opening experience during her mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
Anastasia Valentine, Executive Vice President at Resource 1, is the founder of the “Do It To the Crowd” fundraising event, held annually by the ladies of Alpha Sigma Alpha at Northern Illinois University. Funding the Special Olympics, the fundraiser was created by Valentine 26 years ago. We’re proud that the Resource 1 team lives out our core values to give back to our local communities.
