Resource 1 Teams Up with Photos for Food to Fight Hunger
River Forest, IL, October 24, 2020 – Resource 1 teamed up with Photos for Food to raise money to help feed families in need. With the infamous River Forest, Illinois Halloween house as the backdrop, families arrived decked in their Halloween costumes for 5-minute mini photo sessions with fantastic professional photographers in exchange for $5 minimum donations.
Dozens came out to help support this worthy cause and enjoy the spooky display created specifically for children by a local animation professional.
The first $500 donated was matched by Resource 1. 100% of the proceeds were donated to Beyond Hunger, a food pantry serving the Oak Park, River Forest, and 11 other surrounding communities.
Resource 1 is grateful to everyone who donated their time and money to help those in need. With Resource 1’s donation-match, over $1,800 has been raised for Beyond Hunger, feeding a family of four for over a year. In these uncertain times, with the pandemic still very much upon us and causing increased school closures, event cancellations, and general upheaval to normal life, the most vulnerable in our communities have only become more so. With the help of donors like Resource 1 and everyone who participated in this event with #photosforfoodproject, Beyond Hunger continues to work tirelessly to help the food insecure meet this basic need.
